When she retreats from the embrace, Joan takes Anatoly's hand and folds it between hers. She studies his face for a long minute and then sighs, both for how she's hurting Arthur and how Lex has hurt her very dear friend. "I'm so sorry, Toly. He's hurt you badly, it's plain. If he doesn't grovel when he returns to himself, he's a fool."
