She's given her permission, but that doesn't mean she actually has to watch it - the idea alone is falling somewhat on the side of disturbing in her brain, but the reality is a little bit more uncomfortable, and she knows Auggie won't blame her if she chooses to avert her gaze right now with a small pivot, lifting a hand under the guise of scratching an unconscious itch so she can effectively block her periphery.

He won't get into this any more than absolutely necessary, but she still doesn't know when to look up and so she won't risk it yet, keeping her gaze off to one side, waiting for the sound or indication that the kiss has broken.
